Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another press for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in the Microsoft Word, RTF, or OpenDocument file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Press.

Author Guidelines

We are thrilled to partner with you in bringing your work to the world. To ensure a smooth and successful publishing experience, please follow our comprehensive author guidelines outlined below.


1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Formatting: Please submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Use a standard font like Times New Roman, 12-point size, double-spaced. Margins should be set to 1 inch on all sides.
  • Title Page: Include the title of the work, the author’s name, affiliation (if applicable), and contact information. If there are multiple authors, list all names in order of contribution.
  • Abstract: Provide a concise abstract of 150-250 words that summarizes the key points of your manuscript.
  • Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that represent the main topics of your work.
  • Sections: Organize your manuscript with clear headings and subheadings. Ensure that sections are numbered sequentially and consistently.
  • References: Follow the citation style appropriate to your field (APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.). Include a reference list at the end of the manuscript, ensuring all citations are complete and accurate.

2. Submission Process

  • Initial Submission: Submit your manuscript via our online submission portal or email it to submissions@sobrajpublishing.com. Ensure that all required documents (e.g., cover letter, author bio) are included.
  • Cover Letter: Include a brief cover letter outlining the significance of your work, its target audience, and any previous related publications.
  • Author Bio: Provide a short biography (100-150 words) for each author, highlighting relevant qualifications and publications.
  • Figures and Tables: Submit figures and tables as separate files. Ensure they are clearly labeled and referenced in the manuscript text. Use high-resolution images (300 dpi or higher) for figures.

3. Review and Revision

  • Peer Review: Your manuscript will undergo a thorough peer review process. We strive to provide feedback within 6-8 weeks of submission.
  • Revisions: If revisions are required, you will receive detailed feedback. Please submit your revised manuscript within the specified time frame, addressing all reviewer comments.
  • Final Submission: Once your manuscript is accepted, submit the final version along with any supplementary materials (e.g., data sets, appendices).

4. Post-Acceptance

  • Proofreading: After acceptance, your manuscript will undergo professional proofreading. You will receive a proof copy to review for any final corrections.
  • Copyright Agreement: Authors will be required to sign a copyright agreement. Sobraj Publishing retains the rights to distribute and promote the published work.
  • Publication: Your work will be published in both print and digital formats. We will provide marketing support to ensure broad dissemination of your book.

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Originality: Ensure that your manuscript is original and not under consideration elsewhere. Plagiarism will result in immediate rejection.
  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest in your cover letter.
  • Permissions: Obtain necessary permissions for any third-party material included in your manuscript.
